2024 Boys & Girls Eligibility Requirements

Age/Grade Requirement Rules Division

8 & Under: A player can be no older than 8 on or before August 1, 2025

9 & Under: A player can be no older than 9 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 3rd Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 10 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 3rd Grade Division

10 & Under: A player can be no older than 10 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 4th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 11 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 4th Grade Division

11 & Under: A player can be no older than 11 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 5th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 12 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 5th Grade Division

12 & Under: A player can be no older than 12 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 6th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 13 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 6th Grade Division

13 & Under: A player can be no older than 13 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 7th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 14 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 7th Grade Division

14 & Under: A player can be no older than 14 on or before August 1, 2025 For A/Elite Grade Division: A player who is in the 8th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 15 on or before August 1, 2025, is eligible to compete in the 8th Grade Division

9th Grade: A player can be no older than 15 on or before August 1, 2025 Grade Exception: A player who is in the 9th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 16 on or before August 1, 2025 is eligible to compete in the 9th Grade Division.

10th Grade:A player can be no older than 16 on or before August 1, 2025 Grade Exception: A player who is in the 10th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 17 on or before August 1, 2025 is eligible to compete in the 10th Grade Division.

11th Grade: A player can be no older than 17 on or before August 1, 2024 Grade Exception: A player who is in the 11th Grade as of October 1, 2024 and who is no older than 18 on or before August 1, 2025 is eligible to compete in the 11th Grade Division.


Playing Times: All Games Use Stop Clocks

  • 8U / 2nd Grade  Division – 2 (12 Minute Halves)
  • 9U / 3rd Grade Division – 2 (12 Minute Halves)
  • 10U / 4th Grade Division – 2 (14 Minute Halves)
  • 11U / 5th Grade Division- 2 (14 Minute Halves)
  • 12U / 6th Grade Division- 2 (14 Minute Halves)
  • 13U / 7th Grade Division- 2 (15 Minute Halves)
  • 14U / 8th Grade Division- 2 (15 Minute Halves)
  • 15U Division- 2 (15 Minute Halves)
  • 16U Division- 2 (15 Minute Halves)
  • 17U Division- 2 (15 Minute Halves)
  • Overtime – 2 Minutes
  • Double Overtime – 1 Minutes
  • Triple Overtime – 1 Minute

Fouls:

Player Fouls Out- 5 Fouls
1-1 Bonus- 10th Foul
Double Bonus- 13th Foul

Game Time and Grace Period:

Each Team is responsible of being at the gym at least 30 minutes before their scheduled game. There will be a 10 minute grace period allowed for any games.  At least 4 players & a coach must be present to start a game.  There will only be a 5 minute warm up time before the game and 2 minutes at halftime.

Time Outs:

Two Full Timeouts per half (No timeouts from the 1st half can carry over to the 2nd half). One Timeout in Overtime

Game Ball:

The 28.5 official game basketball size for 9u, 10u, 11u, & 12u
The 29.5 official game basketball size for 13u, 14u, 15u, 16u & 17u

Uniforms:

Each team must have a Home & Away jersey (light and dark).

Mercy Rule:

If a team is ahead by 20 points or more the clock will turn into a running clock. If the lead drops below 20 points normal rules (stopped clock) will resume.  All games all games will be completely played out no matter the score.

Pre-Game:

Each team will be given 5 minutes to warm up before each game. Home team is responsible for supplying the game ball. Each team is responsible for cleaning the bench area after the game has ended.

Player & Coach Ejections:

PLAYER: Any player ejected from a game will be suspended the very next game (NO Exceptions). Any player(s) involved in or ejected for fighting will be suspended the remainder of the tournament.
COACH: Any coach ejected from a game may Coach the next game.
If a game is called/stopped by the referees because of any action on or off the court that the refs feel that it is not within the best interest of the tournament for the game to proceed then the score shown when the game is stopped will serve as the final score.

Birth Certificates or ID:

All teams must have each players birth certificate or identification card with them during the entire tournament for both safety &

Challenges, Protests & Additional Rules:

A protest of a particular player must be made by the opposing team BEFORE the start of the game (at least 30min before the start).  The head coach of the protesting team must submit a Protest Fee of $100. The $100 will be refunded if the protest is upheld and forfeited if the protest is not upheld. The team being protested must produce a legal birth certificate and/or form of ID showing the players date of birth and current Report Card showing the players Grade Level. Failure to produce the proper documents or if the documentation does not fit into the Age/Grade Rules, will result in an automatic player disqualification for that particular player from any further games within the tournament (MOVING FORWARD).  No team can protest during or after the completion of the game, all protest must be made before Tip-Off.

NOTE: Players within the same organization may play up to play on two teams.  Organizations that have two teams within the same Age/Grade Group but, are in separate divisions can not share players.

No player may be allowed to play on two separtate teams/organization and participate in the same event.  A player that plays on two teams within the same organization can only play up in another age division.  A player that plays on the two teams for the same organization (within the same age group) is not allowed.

A player that does NOT play in a Pool Play game is not eligible to play in a Bracket Play game.


Tie Breaker Criteria (In Order):

1. Won-Loss Record
2. Head to Head Competition
3. Point System (Margin Of Victory…plus/minus)- Any team winning by more than 15 points will only be rewarded 15 points for the victory. For example, if your team wins by 22 points you still will be rewarded only 15 points.
4. Least Amount of Points allowed in Pool Play
5. Coin Flip
Attention: Any team that doesn’t complete the tournament including 3rd Place games will be subject to be omitted from future AGame Events.
Any rules not mentioned above will be worked out fairly at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
